What the service is
Delete Image Metadata provides free browser-based tools for inspecting and removing metadata from image files. Using the site means accepting these terms.
The image tools run on your device. We do not receive, store or process your files, which also means we cannot recover a file for you or undo a change on your behalf.
No warranty
The tools are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. We aim for correctness and the processing is covered by an automated test suite, but we cannot guarantee that every metadata block in every file variant will be detected or removed, or that the site will be available without interruption.
Keep your original files. Verify results that matter to you — the tool re-reads its own output for exactly this reason, and you can independently re-load a cleaned file to check it.
What we do not claim
Removing metadata reduces what a file discloses. It does not make an image anonymous or untraceable, it does not remove information visible in the picture, and it does not remove watermarks encoded into pixel values. No claim is made about how any third-party platform will classify, label or handle a processed file.
Acceptable use
Do not use these tools to interfere with the rights of others, including stripping copyright and credit metadata from work that is not yours in order to misrepresent its authorship, or to remove provenance information in furtherance of fraud or deception.
You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with the laws that apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of this site, including damaged files, lost metadata you intended to keep, or consequences of sharing a file you believed to be clean.
